About

Rohan Goel is working toward his undergraduate degree from Georgia Institute of Technology. He is currenly a senior and is expected to receive his B.S degree in 2010. He presently works as an undergraduate research assistant at ICSL. His research at ICSL has focused on developing the electronics and controls for Micro Air Vehicles (MAVs). His research interests include embedded systems and robotics. He was awarded the President's Undergraduate Research Award (PURA) in 2009.

Currently he is working on designing the electronics and controls of the autopilot for a flapping wing ornithopter. The autopilot constitutes the prime control, processing and communication medium for the MAV. Some of the applications of the project include: closed-quarter surveillance, indoor search & rescue, and tactical surveillance to access danger zones / hostages / terrorists in an environment inaccessible to ground robots. More information about the project is here.
